...in the last few days I've been having problems with Blogger comments. Specifically, once I've clicked on comments, I can't get away from the comments window without closing the blog window.
I used to be able to read comments, add one if I chose to, and then use the back arrow to go back to the blog I was reading. From there, one click of the back arrow would take me back to my own blog so I could click on the link to the next thing I wanted to read.
Recently, though, I've been getting stuck in the comments screen. The back arrow brings up the little security question window again. If I click on any part of that, it takes me right back to comments. I end up toggling back and forth between the comments and the security window until I get frustrated and click the "x" to close the blog window.
I haven't changed any settings, so I'm wondering if Blogger has tweaked something recently that might be causing this? Does anyone know?
Velvet, I've ALWAYS had that problem! It's never worked any other way for me. I'm amazed at the easy way you were doing it!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't even get this comment posted but don't know why. I could always before do what you did.
ReplyDeleteGot this comment posted and clicked the back arrow and then had to click on Show Original Post and then back arrow again.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be having a problem for like a week now....I am like 'fix it all ready!'It is ticking me off!
ReplyDeleteI've been having problems commenting for about 6 months. The security box keeps popping up no matter whether I click yes or no.
ReplyDeleteI've found if I go back to the original post and click on comments again the security box accepts the "yes" click. I can then comment.
Hmmm, I've never had that problem. What browser are you using? I'm a Firefox guy.
ReplyDeleteI wanted you to know that I requested the book about your relative, Mary Boleyn today. It was out today, but I will get it when it comes in and I am excited to read it. Hope I don't the the problem you have and am stuck on this page!~
ReplyDeleteI always have to close the comment window. If I don't, it goes to the taskbar (or is it toolbar?) until I close it. It didn't used to be that way, I think. Maybe it's one of the new "improvements".
ReplyDeleteWell...I'm feeling very lucky. None of those problems here and I use explorer. But, I also find I have to use a registry cleaner on my computer daily. Darned vista! Carmon
ReplyDeleteCreekhiker, I can still use the back arrow to get out of comments unless I actually *write* a comment. It's as if once I've put in my two cents, the doors lock behind me.
ReplyDeleteNan16, I've had trouble posting comments, too, recently. Sometimes it's caused me to leave a comment twice without intending to. I'll try using the "show original post" method and see if that helps.
4th Sister, I'm glad you've noticed that it's a recent thing; maybe I'm not crazy after all.
Lucylocket, your name sounds familiar, but if you've been here before, I believe it must have been a long time. Thanks for visiting and commenting. As for that little pop-up security box, I'm beginning to hate-it.
Mike, I'm using Internet Explorer. What are the advantages of Firefox and where do I get it?
Sister-Three, I hope you enjoy the book. I'm curious about the movie they made from it but will wait for the DVD.
Janet, I've noticed, too, that the comment windows stays open until I close it. What's also odd is that if I leave it open and switch to a different blog, if I click on comments on the new blog, nothing appears to happen. But then if I click on the taskbar to open the comments window again, it'll show the comments of the new blog. I think. I'm getting SO confused.
Carmon, I don't even know what a registry cleaner is. Is that the same thing as cleaning cookies out of the cache?
Let's see if this works for me. Yep, it does. I've not had the problem you've been having, Velvet, so I suspect it is one of those rolling problems that afflicts some blogs one week and other blogs another week. I suspect my time is coming. Thanks for the heads-up.
ReplyDeleteLike Mike, I use Firefox.
Well as soon as I said I wasn't having problems it dumped my comment! Firefox is a free browser like explorer. You can go to their website and download it to give it a try. I didn't care for it but it is supposed to have fewer problems than explorer does.
ReplyDeleteA registry cleaner removes bits of dead information from the system registry. They build up over time like dust bunnies under the sofa and eventually cause your system to have problems. We bought one called 'SystemSuite' and it has worked really well for us. I was particularly having graphics/photoshop program problems when I switched to vista and it cleared them right up. Carmon
Blogger did that to me too. But only sometimes.
