Earlier in the week I went clothes shopping, a chore I've absolutely detested in recent years. This time, though, I was kind of excited about it. I've now lost 64 pounds, and as my body has slimmed (although not yet to the point where it needs to be), my clothing choices have widened, making shopping much less stressful. I must admit that as I waited in line I felt a sort of smug satisfaction, pleased that I had found what I was looking for in my size -- on sale, no less.
As the cashier began to ring up my purchases, I noticed that the window on my side of the cash register showed the cost of each item as well as a brief description of it. What caught my attention was the last item the cashier had rung up, a blouse with big buttons on it. The truncated message in the cash register window read: "$19.99 BIG BUTT."
Maybe so, but I'm still working on it.
Lol! That's funny! The brand name for clothes, makes ya wonder :)
ReplyDeletewow! 64 pounds is great-bet you're having fun with your new clothes!
ReplyDeleteChar, I thought it was funny, too, but the cashier assured me it said "BIG BUTTON" on her side of the register.
ReplyDeleteJanet, it's nice to have more of a choice when I go shopping, but I can't buy much. I'm losing more slowly now, so I feel safe that what I buy now will fit me through early fall. Can't really buy anything that's too fitted. I went to a baby shower the other day and wore a pair of Kim's slacks from four years ago with a pretty blouse of mine from the early '90s. That was the first time in years I've worn a blouse tucked into the pants.
Too funny!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Linda! Phooey on the Big Butt, I say. Phooey!
ReplyDeleteHolly, I thought of your comment on an earlier post when I checked my stat counter yesterday and discovered that this post had had approximately four times the number of hits as most of my posts do. There must be a lot of pervy "big butt" googlers out there.
ReplyDeleteAnnette, yeah, that's right. Phooey! I'll say phooey, too!
