Oh, baby, baby!

My new great-grandson, Owen, turned five months old yesterday. In those five short months he has firmly secured his place in our hearts. He doesn't know it yet, but he is definitely the king of our world.

Owen's mama is doing a great job of providing the family with current photos. Her digital camera and her photographic skills have moved way up near the top of my gratitude list. (I cheerfully snagged the photos above from Facebook.)

This past Sunday Kim and I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with Owen while his Nana, my daughter Kelli, babysat.  His mama sent his Jeep with him on this visit, and I remembered to take my camera, so I got the chance to take some pictures of my own:

How we hope he'll be in 16 years:
driving safely, hands on the wheel,
big baby-blues on the road ahead.

How he'll possibly be in 16 years,
given the genes he's inherited:
Rowdy hollering, hearty laughter,
"Look, Ma, no hands!"

  3. Holly, I suspect even Aunt Kim would find this idea unsettling. ;-)

Adam wanted to know why there was no mention of ( his words) "Owens wonderful father" hahaha

  7. Janet, thanks. He's very good-natured, mostly, but he can turn it on and off at will and without warning.

Duly Inspired, thanks, I do feel blessed.

Kalyn, omigod! I wrote two whole paragraphs about how wonderful Owen's father is. What happened to them? I must have accidentally deleted the HTML code when I moved one of the photos. Okay, maybe that's not true, but it IS true that Adam is a wonderful dad. Sorry I neglected to mention him and happy that he called the error to your attention. ;-)
