The toughest decision I've never had to make...

...until yesterday.

My beloved Kadi is gone, and a piece of my heart has gone with her. If dogs have a heaven (I believe they do), then it's a richer, happier place with Kadi in it.

I am sadder than any words I can write, but more than that, I'm thankful beyond measure for the years I was allowed to spend with that sweet soul wrapped in yellow fur.

God bless all of you who have ever loved an animal.

  11. Just checking in to see if you had updated how you were and I was struck by the new masthead. Such beautiful eyes Kadi had. Soulful, sweet, knowing. Tear falling down my cheek right now. I'm so glad she had you though, you know? So glad you and she were a pair, a team, house and heart mates. She chose well when she chose you.

  17. Linda, I'm speechless and sobbing. I haven't read your blog for awhile and I was shocked when I saw the title. I am so sorry, I know how much Kadie meant to you and I loved reading stories about her. Our animals are our friends and family and when they are gone, the hole in our heart feels huge.
