It lasts an hour or so and then it's over.

I guess that means I'm willing to terrorize dogs for a couple of hours, but not for a couple of days.

Janet, it's rained here every afternoon for the past two weeks -- until yesterday. Looks pretty sunny today, too.

Maria, good point about the sulfur. My own sniffer is not as acute as it should be, but I've often wondered if the scent raises the dogs' anxiety long before they hear the first loud noise.Linda@VShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04499621332375290781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21612081.post-89123281322547697402010-07-03T19:55:28.204-05:002010-07-03T19:55:28.204-05:00I DETEST fireworks because 1) they scare the hell ...I DETEST fireworks because 1) they scare the hell out of my dog and 2) the sulfur smell stays in the air for hours.

Ugh.Mariahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05049511202014141182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21612081.post-41024865796896118832010-07-03T07:24:16.465-05:002010-07-03T07:24:16.465-05:00I pray for rain every 4th of July and Labor Day. And I do love seeing the kids enjoying the show but HERE in LA... where they are illegal, it drives me nuts. I worry so about fires in our dry mountains. The pops started a week ago, every few hours. I took me a few days to realize the holiday was imminent.

I'm lucky in that I can sit IN my pool and see a very expense fireworks show. I was lucky in my other home...my front yard had prime access to two golf courses and elaborate shows. Maggie LOVED to sit out there and stare into the heavens. She enjoyed them here too. Mabel USED to love sitting out there with me but around two years ago, she started freaking out.CreekHiker / HollysFollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14987597104795294851noreply@blogger.com
