An accident client came in and brought a friend. While the client met with the attorney, the friend--once again a clean-cut, very good-looking man--chatted with me. The next day the friend came in alone and asked me out for the upcoming Friday night. He was several years older than I (23, I think), but now that I was 18 and "a woman," I accepted gladly.

At home that evening I told my mother about the date, giving her the man's name. The next day at work, Mother called and begged me to break the date. She'd mentioned the man's name to a friend of the family who told her the man was known to be a pimp. I had no idea what a pimp was, but Mother explained it in terms I understood. That time I DID break the date.Linda@VShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04499621332375290781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21612081.post-80966201069910228372014-06-28T08:32:03.639-05:002014-06-28T08:32:03.639-05:00Patsy, after learning about PJ's colorful past...Patsy, after learning about PJ's colorful past, I waited for the other shoe to drop, too. I did watch Edie Falco accept awards for her performance in the role of Carmela, however, so thanks on behalf of all the little people in my life who made you believe I could do the role justice.Linda@VShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04499621332375290781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21612081.post-52489644356209406892014-06-27T21:38:44.452-05:002014-06-27T21:38:44.452-05:00Interesting story...don't know what I would ha...Interesting story...don't know what I would have done.
